It is housed in the Tate Gallery's original premises on Millbank, which became "Tate Britain" rather than simply "the Tate Gallery" when Tate Modern opened in 2000. Tate Britain is the national gallery of British art from 1500 to the present day. It includes work by William Blake, John Constable, Thomas Gainsborough, William Hogarth and Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and has a wing devoted to the work of J.M.W. Turner. The gallery also hosts the annual Turner Prize exhibition, featuring works by the four nominated artists, which have been selected by the artists in collaboration with the gallery's curators.
